Platform

Education

Education for Knox County’s Future!

·        A good education IS economic development.

·        Major changes are on the horizon in education.  Job demands are changing
rapidly, and we must prepare our children to meet these demands.
(60% of Tennessee college freshmen require remedial courses.)

Development

Development is necessary for Knox County’s Future!

·        Development should be sustainable and should enhance the tax base.

·        When possible good, high-quality infill development should be encouraged.

·        Collaborative efforts should be promoted between and among homeowners,
      developers and county government.

County Government

Transparency in Local Government!

·        Elected officials should lead by example, and Finbarr has done this through his
30 years of active service in the community.

·        Finbarr will promote open, honest, available and ACCOUNTABLE county
      government.

Charter Amendments

Let the People Vote!

 ·        No matter where you stand on the individual amendments, Knox County voters
deserve a chance to vote/should have a voice.

·        A diverse and thoughtful group of citizens began developing these
amendments in April of 2007.  Knox County citizens have shown their
commitment and interest through public meetings held in May of 2007 at Halls,
Bearden, Carter, South Doyle and Fulton High Schools.
